My Thoughts on Keto

We've all heard the hub about keto. But what is it really? And is it for you??

Keto is a diet plan where 75% of your calories come from fat, 20% come from protein, and 5% come from carbs. (Similar to The Atkins Diet except The Atkins Diet is high in protein as well.)

When you eat a majority of fats, your body is not burning sugars and carbs (because you're hardly eating any). So instead, your body is burning fat.

Now in theory, that sounds amazing right?? We all want our bodies to be fat burning machines, right???

Welp, unfortunately, it it not maintainable. Do you want to live the rest of your life, without carbs? By carbs I am talking cookies, breads, pastas, beer, etc. Do you want to go the rest of your life, without that? Every party you go to, no more cake. Every happy hour you go to, no more beer. NO! Of course not!!!!

So keto CAN be great, but you have to be SUPER tight on it. It's hard to make errors while on keto, too. And let's face it, we all have errors in our diet or nutrition from time to time. So it's just not realistic in terms of long-term/maintainable diet.
