Gym Anxiety:
I recently spoke to someone who stated they didn't like to go to the gym because people look at them and judge them.
Now this is probably true, but go to the grocery store and people will probably judge you there too.
However, when going to the gym, we all have something in common. We are all there to work on ourselves, to gain confidence, to get healthier, to lose weight/gain muscle, gain knowledge, etc.
When I first started going to the gym, I used to watch people working out. Now don't get me wrong, I, being a girl, mainly would check out the outfits of other girls working out. But I also would watch how people use machines so I didn't feel dumb or uncomfortable when I would use those machines next.
So maybe people are watching you but maybe they are just watching you to gain knowledge. This could be a big compliment!
Since gaining knowledge and confidence at the gym, I have had people tell me that they watch me work out so they can learn from what I am doing. When people used to watch me, of course I would get creeped out and occasionally still am. However, I remind myself that they are potentially looking for help and I am all for it!
If people are there to judge me and make fun of me, I honestly, welcome that too. Regardless, I am getting my workout in and they are learning something whether they want to or not!
