I went on vacation at the end of August. I did pretty bad with my food and alcohol. I worked out only a few days. I felt pretty bad but figured it was just vacation. I came home for a few weeks and got back on track.
In the beginning of September, I had a birthday. Cake was ON POINT! I then spent another week on vacation with friends. Again, my food and alcohol, wasn't great. Worked out minimally. Then I came back home for another 2 weeks. Eating wasn't great. Still craved sweets and ALL the food. Still had some leftover food from vacation like bags of popcorn and cookies. Working out got back on track. Even ran a 5k. Weight was still high and had little motivation to go to the gym.
My friends came up for a weekend in late September. There was again no gym time. Eating was a bit wild. And alcohol was off the charts. Feeling bad about myself and weight gain was up too.
I looked at my body and realized it wasn't where it was pre vacation. I had gained some weight. Even a family member had noticed. Yes, it was only a few pounds, but it was hard to watch all my hard work go out the door.
Notice in every picture that I have attached to this post, I'm either eating a heaping pile of cookies or drinking some type of alcoholic beverage. While normally they taste great, and are even a comfort at times, this is not a consistently healthy way to fix my journey. "Everything in moderation" can be a good thing, and I definitely can not NOT have cookies sometimes. But ALL THE TIME is OUT OF THE QUESTION!
I decided today that I am going to get back on track and even get better than I was before. I am upping my water intake and my vegetable consumption. Fattening foods such as cookies, cakes, brownies, popcorn, chocolate, etc. is going to take a back seat.
I have continued to go to the gym. I have been pushing even harder. I've been upping my weights, reps and sets. I've been getting more cardio in as well.
I feel good about this change but I know it will be a hard one. I know it will be something I really have to work at. I want my dream body. I want to feel good in my own skin. No more feeling sorry for myself, or feeling slumped. I am going to get better and push past this!
Wish me luck and follow me along on this journey. Make small changes everyday. Up the water. Get more steps. Workout. Up your weights. Whatever it takes. Get after it! Be strong! You got this!
