You May Have Noticed My Scar...

You may have seen pictures of me and notcied a little line on my stomach. Yup! It's a scar!

When I was 2, I woke up in really bad pain behind my belly button. My parents took me to the hospital where the doctors thought it was appendicitis and they were going to remove my appendix. When they opened me up, they actually saw poison instead of anything wrong with my appendix. It was called Primary Peritonitis.

Ever have a can of Spaghetti O's? When you open the can, the spaghetti was my organs and the red sauce was the poison. They removed the poison along with my appendix (they figured since they were in there, they didn't want to reopen me later, so they did it all in one).

The doctors had to turn to the CDC located in Atlanta for help. No one had seen the type of bacteria that was in my body. I had been to a beach a few days prior to getting sick. The doctors assumed I got a parasite from the water. Since no one else was ever documented being sick from that beach, we were all left with unanswered questions.

So why am I telling you this?

I have had this scar for most of my life. I have always loved my scar. But as I gained weight, my scar disappeared. And as I lost weight, it re-emerged.

Since I lost the weight, people have asked more and more about my scar. And I love my story and sharing how it went from being unnoticeable to noticeable.

My scar is located on the right side of my stomach. Check out my pictures below to see it! Ask me all about it!!!
