Also disclaimer that I am in no way telling anyone what to take. Talk to your doctor and listen to your body for what you think you should take. I am simply stating just what I personally use.
I used to take a multivitamin but I often forgot to take it. Of all the supplements I do/don’t take, this is one of the ones I probably should take. This can help with all around functions in the body. Anything you generally lack or need, usually the multivitamin can make up for it. Any recommendations on good ones, let me know!!
I just recently started taking greens by Bowmar Nutrition. I am a very picky eater and taster. I don’t like a lot of things because of either their taste or their texture. I tried a sample of their greens and actually didn’t mind the taste. I didn’t think it tasted like fish food which some other greens taste like. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t love the taste. Still tastes “healthy”, but at least I can stomach the taste and know that I am getting the nutrients I need. Greens are a dietary supplement that help people reach their vegetable intake goals. At least for me, I do not even come close to my vegetable goals. No matter how many times I try to make that broccoli or eat those green beans (those are about the only vegetables I actually like) it’s never enough, or I get sick of them. Greens help me get the nutrients from the vegetables that I normally miss out on.
Before my workouts I also use a preworkout. I am on the fence about taking preworkouts. I have tried a lot of different ones. Both with and without the tingles. I’ve taken high dosages and low dosages. While sometimes I love the focus and even the energy, I don’t feel that this is always needed. When doing my own research on preworkouts, I noticed that most articles stated that preworkout doesn’t help your body in anyway. The main ingredient in preworkout that people like, is the caffeine. You can easily get that from a cup of coffee. I also learned that one of the most famous body builders of all time, Arnold Schwarzenegger, never used a preworkout. It wasn’t until later years that he, along side some other famous celebrities, created a clean preworkout with ingredients that are clean/better for your body. Again, none of it aids your body in any way, but the preworkout itself is cleaner than most. I did try this and it was pretty good. But be careful of other products out there. Many preworkouts can have ingredients that aren’t wanted or even not listed on the product label. I found a preworkout that works for me, and I stick to that. However, like I said above, I often don’t take a preworkout, or sometimes I even just drink a simple cup of black coffee before a workout. Do your research and see what works for you.
Something that is in the preworkout I take (but not in all preworkouts) is creatine. The days that I do not take a preworkout, I take creatine by itself. Creatine can aid in muscle growth and strength.
The only other supplement I take is protein. Protein is needed in everyone’s diet. Whether from meats or powders, protein helps your body function.
While other supplements can potentially help your body, those are the only ones I take. Every body is different and should be assessed as so. Something that’s right for me might not be right for you, and vice versus.
Let me know what else you guys take or if you recommend something different. Thanks for reading!!!
