What Keeps Me Motivated?

Every day I would look in the mirror and I hated what I saw. I hated the way my clothes would fit. I hated watching the scale rise. I hated having no confidence. I hated everything. I knew I had to make a change.

I started to try to lose weight and I would stop. It was too hard. Too much work. Too expensive. I didn’t know what to do. Why wasn’t I losing weight after 2 days? I was too sore to sit down or walk but I still couldn’t see my abs. So I’d give up. This cycle repeated itself a few times.

Finally though, I was so sick of looking at myself in the mirror. I was sick of having no confidence and wearing clothes to hide my figure. The scale just kept climbing too. I had had enough.

I found my “WHY”.

I was tired of this person. Tired of being stuck. Tired of feeling sorry for myself. I wanted the dream body, and I was going to get it!

I knew it would be hard work but I decided I would do what I needed to do.

A friend reached out and got me motivated. I asked him to train me. I began asking different people for help, tricks, tips, advice, the whole 9. I quickly began to see change.

Fast forward to today. I’m 40 pounds lighter. I’m a lot healthier and happier. But how?

I got to where I wanted to be, so how do I stay motivated to continue?

I set new goals almost daily. I look at my destination. I see what I want and I go get it. I won’t stop until I get there.

I know what it’s like 40 pounds heavier. I know what it felt like being at my heaviest weight. I know what it felt like to have no confidence. Why would I want to go back to that? I wouldn’t. That’s my “why”.

I feel good the way I am now. Am I done with my fitness career? Not even close. I’m just getting started.

My advice to you:

Set goals. Write them down in your phone. Keep your eyes on the prize. Reach for it and never stop.

Change something every day. Drink more water. Count your calories or macros. Throw away junk foods. Eat more veggies. Log your food. Ask for help. Take more steps. Go for a walk. Go to the gym. Ask someone to go with you or help you. Read books that get you motivated. Read books that help your self worth. Learn about self care. Get confidence. Stay the course. It will happen.

Remember where you started and remember where you’re going!!!
